Air Cleaner Bracket

I have a Shop-Vac (1030000) Air Cleaner. These are portable air cleaners that are actually designed for bench-top use or just sit on the floor.

My shop / garage is pretty crowded, and trying to use this air cleaner on either the bench or floor created both a space problem and storage issue. I got tired of stumbling over it and moving it around.

I decided I wanted to mount it in such a way that I could either use it as a ceiling-mounted system or as a portable.

I used scrap plywood to make a mount for it. The mount is attached to the air cleaner with carriage bolts, and hangs on the wall with a French Cleat, so I can easily lift it off the wall and tote it wherever I need it.

Nice idea, it sure makes storing and using the vac a lot easier. Do you have french cleats at different places on your walls so as to be able to move it around.

There is only space for one cleat. The walls in my garage / shop are lined with shelves and pegboard.

The cleat is pretty much dead-center in the wall, and is closest to the area where I typically set up the dust-making machinery.

I too like the French cleat idea. I have the parameter of my shop with the cleats so I can move my “Stuff” around where I need it.

Great idea on the filter, may have to borrow that one ;-)
