As first attempt in the small box world, and also first post to Lumberjocks, this small one is made in Lacewood (louro faia). The lid is made in Bloodwood. The miter key are also made in Bloodwood. To reveal the nice grain patern, i use 2 coat of tung oil as base, and then Minwax Wipe-on poly.

Nice design, nice choice of woods, nice execution.

Awesome job. I like the choice of woods and finish that lets the grain shine. How did you cut the splines? Did you build a table saw jig? Thank you for sharing.

This is a pretty sharp first attempt. I’d love for you to consider showing more photos of the lid to better see how it actually seats to the box. Keep em coming.

This is a real nice box. You did a good job on it.

Excellent combination of woods. A good start to the fabulous world of boxes. Good luck with those still to come!
