I made a second banana hanger, this time the base is out of purpleheart and the arm is walnut.

Nice woods and design I think I will make one if you don,t mind.what kind of wood is the base on the left?

The one on the left was ambrosia maple base and walnut arm. There was just a little bit of white sapwood in the walnut, though.

I stole the design from a cheap plastic banana hanger the wife got at Walmart (I think). I used the plastic one as a template to rout the wood ones. Be careful if you do, with as many times as the grain direction changed, template routing those things was a pain! Many failed attempts.
