This jewelry box was a graduation gift for my niece who has cerebral palsy. I made it accessible to accommodate her physical disability.

The jewelry box is made from red oak with a walnut insert in the lid. The tray slides from side to side or is removable to access the bottom of the box. The bottom of the box and the tray are lined with brown velvet. I pinned the lid to the box rather than installing hinges trying to create a cleaner look.

The best work in the world are the ones we build from the heart. I’m sure your niece is going to love this. Good stuff….
