I like the unique nature of each driftwood piece.

I like the look of driftwood, and I love the center piece with the fork extending past the rail on this table.

Could I ask what the borate solution is? I’ve started collecting river driftwood here in Va., and a lot of it is 6” – 10” across, and up to 5 feet long. (that’s as long as I can fit into my tiny car! lol) I’m hoping the solution can be poured on, as I don’t have an old tub I can soak the wood in. Thanks! (I might start looking for an old bathtub I can put in the back yard just for that kind of use…)

Cindy:
I use a dilute solution of Twenty Mule Team Borax.
Also, I’ll put the driftwood in a solar kiln for a week; just a closed tent made from plastic sheeting.

Thank you –
I left the driftwood in my car for two weeks, hoping the sun baking through the windows would draw out any pests (none showed up). I guess I don’t respect my car!

That looks super!! Those pieces are not easy to fit together so nicely like that!
I like the finish it has.
cindy -clawfoot iron bathtubs are AWESOME in the backyard! -especially on a breezy spring evening with a full moon!! You should definitely get one!
