It is coming together nicely

Kentucky produces about 800,000 barrels a year. Most are used in the making of our bourbon whiskey. Our state law only allows a bourbon barrel to be used once. Most of the used bourbon barrels are disassembled and shipped to Ireland and Scotland for use in aging their distilled spirits – karmic recycling at its best.
I’ve been using old barrels in my rustic crafting for many years. After all, there’s a ready supply just down the road. The round barrel heads make excellent small rustic table tops. I’m processing about 20 of them this month.
I use the staves to make a nice meditation bench. Someday I’ll post a picture of one.
I even use the iron barrel hoops in my crafting business. I cut and hammer the iron strapping to make hardware for my rustic furniture such as angle brackets and handles.
I rivet four together to make a nice garden orb. Here’s one hanging from a sycamore tree.
