I am a bit slow on posting these. I found myself at the beginning of November trying to think what this year’s woodworking gift was going to be. The last few years I have made things for my parents to prove to them that the tools do occasionally get used and to force me to produce something on a deadline. Two years ago it was a Arts & Crafts side table which they loved. Last year was a Arts & Crafts floor lamp that I am not sure they do, so I was thinking something more restrained. Also, I need to make two. My wife wasn’t thrilled that my parents had more of my paltry furniture output than she did. So what to make…
Well, I settled on cutting boards on the Wood Whisperer’s pattern. First of all, it should be quick, secondly it would be a good test of my shiny new Grizzly table saw. And so it was pretty easy. The saw works like a champ. The boards are made with hard maple and Black Walnut. The pictures aren’t great, but it’s what I can get out of my current camera.
