This is a beautiful jewelry box that was a gift from a fellow Lumberjock, Bob “Grizzman”. Although I did not create it myself, since Bob is an active member of the Lumberjocks community I wanted to post it here and display it for everyone to enjoy.
The box is made from a wonderful mixture of Antique Southern Pine, Walnut, Curly Maple and Padauk. The Walnut on the lid is a crotch piece and the grain is stunning. It has a compartment under the lift-up lid, as well as two drawers with removable dividers so I can configure it how I want. The side handles are made of Padauk and the top of the lid has a thin trim piece which frames the Walnut with Curly Maple and Padauk . The lid also has splines for accents.
This is such a wonderful gift from a good friend and talented woodworker. I think it just goes to show the type of people we have here on Lumberjocks. I was totally surprised to receive this gift, and will not only cherish it for its beauty, but also for the kindness and friendship that it symbolizes.
Many thanks to Bob for his kind thoughtfulness. It is something I will treasure. :)
