Finished Log Cat Tree, and yes I wanted it to look like a tree house and not those card board carpeted pieces of $*#@. This is one of a few finished products from my Yellow & White birch logs blog. All wood materials are left overs from various projects only purchased item is the sisal rope. Main trunk and branches are hand peeled yellow birch and branches are doweled and scribed to fit, I needed to add screws to help stiffen up the branches. House is done with leftover T&G ceder boards from a porch ceiling remodel. landings are recycled 1×10 rough sawn boards that I use for temporary stair treads. Stained Golden Oak with no other sealer.
Total hight of tree is 6’
All in all its really stable and should hold up, she has 2 Maine Coon Cats!!

I’ll deliver this to my Daughter tomorrow and her 3 cats, lets see if they can destroy this one.

This looks great. How did you attach the carpet to the top of each platform? And did you do anything in particular to ‘protect’ the edges of the carpet so it doesn’t get messed up as much? Thanks

Thanks Pawky,
This was my first adventure into “Cat Trees” well I’ve tried to fix the ones my daughter has bought in the past, with not much luck.
I used both double sided tape (carpet tape, had left over) and I used my air staple gun, stapling only around the edge. To hold the edges down I stapled a row of the Sisal rope around the edge.
We’ll see how it holds up and will adjust if needed.
I think I might try a rustic Log 4 poster cat bed next, should be quick.
