I made this stepstool for my niece. It’s from one inch thick red oak I dumpstered from a cabinet shop nearby.

The legs angle out a bit, which made sizing and installing the cross-bar that much more interesting. I chiseled in a 1/4 inch mortise for the cross-bar to glue tightly into, helped by the ends of it being beveled to match the angle. A few more coats of polyurethane and it’ll be done. She better have clean shoes when she steps on it.
