Thanks for the positive comments. Yes, as I mentioned, she really does like them, and she wears them. I’ll see about producing a tiny explanation for the tiny box. As far as the penny goes, it’s a special edition, but if you want one I can arrange a bargain price. ;-)

i love hearts, so these are like number one on my “love it” list, but i do have a question for you. What finishing would you recommend to apply to get a nice shine like yours? I also do wood earrings but i’m not too sure on what i should use to give it a nice smooth shine. This is an example of what they look like:

Glad you like them. I have used 2 different finishes with excellent results, and no reactions. The one that I use most often is Clapham’s Beeswax Polish, and the other is a hard carnauba wax in bar form. I apply the Clapham’s with a soft cloth, let it sit for about 30 minutes, then buff by hand. This is repeated at least once more, then I use a soft buffing wheel to remove all excess wax, and leave a lovely shine. The carnauba bar method is to apply the bar to a buffing wheel first, then I polish the item with the buffing wheel, adding additional carnauba if required. I try to get the item warm (not hot) during the buffing, then let it cool prior to a final very light buffing. For thin items such as the ones in your photos, I would suggest a low speed, tiny buff, such as a Dremel, with very light application pressure (don’t forget the eye protection whenever buffing). I would hate to see that lovely delicate work get broken.

Thanks so much for the infromation but i was wondering is there a much simpler route that i can take? And also, would a wood polisher and conditioner all in one be a good idea? I was looking at this product online on the home depot website

Considering the product contains carnauba wax and beeswax, which are the main types that I use, I would expect that you might get some good results. All I can suggest is to try it . . . gently . . . and let the rest of us see what your results are.
