Wooden Clacker

This is a toy I made for my nephews 1st b-day. It was my first try at bent lamination and it went pretty well. I used cherry and maple for the bent lamination. The clackers are maple, purpleheart, walnut and cherry. The handle is a walnut dowel. It was finished with oil and wax. I also made another clacker that can just be rolled on the floor.

Charlie, you beat to it. Is this payback for something the parents did to you. My mother in law gave my son a drum set at age 2. It ‘broke’, suddenly. Nice job on the toy though. There is a toy that has a duck with wings that flap-quietly. That might be a good follow up

Very nice workmanship . We all know that the art of clacker-making has been sorely neglected.

You clacker reminds me of the ones carried by the ancient Babylonians into battle
