Hey guys! It still need the final touches (attaching weights and wheels), but here is my entery for the Open Division, for Dads. I had to go for the Michael Keaton Bat Mobile. One of my friends used to work in a car bodyshop, and told me that the finish wasn’t good enough unless you could count your teeth in the reflection. I had to go back and re-do it more times than I care to admit. Here she is and I am very happy! I have never carved a car like this.

Thanks for looking!

Ooohhhh. Very nice, I’ll bet the other Dads were stomping their feet and complaining to their wives. “But Chris’ car was so much better.”

Reminds me of when I was a kid my dad and myself made a corvette. During the process we filled in the slots for wheels and when we attached the wheels they where too high. When the car was placed on the track it wouldn’t roll down because the wheels weren’t touching.

No way! Me and my dad made a bat-mobile pinewood derby car when I was in the cubscouts. It was by far the coolest one in the bunch. Unfortunately I lost it over the years. He did it where we used 2 blanks. He cut of 2 strips 1/2” wide and made that cover the wheel wells so the they were recessed.

By the way, Michael Ketons bat mobile is by far the best one created so far.
