This is a photo of the cradle I build for my daughter in 2003. It’s made from fiddleback maple, and to me it turned out absolutely gorgeous—it has a finish of tung oil. I have the blow-by-blow account of the construction, but it’s on a backup and I’ll have to locate it.

I also built the changing table in the background (designed to house baskets for diapers and clothes, and fit a standard changing pad) and designed the frog quilt seen on the crib. My nickname is “frog,” so my “tadpole” had plenty of company.

I love the contrast in the maple! One of my favorite wood’s to work with. Your daughter must be very proud of this cradle.
