My sister asked if I could make a step stool for her new step grand-baby Luke. I had been wanting to try this plan out for some time. It was fun to make, tho next time I’ll probably do a few things differently. I think the dowel for the back support is either too close to the back or the sides aren’t wide enough, and I’ll be sure to cut the taper the right length so the back sits flatter as steps.
As Luke’s Dad is a huge Star Wars nut, I wanted to paint it up like an X-wing, all white with the rebellion logo on the side and his name in Star Wars font. Sis wasn’t too keen on that so she’ll do the finishing.
Just need to box it up and ship it out to her.
Next stool is one for the wife’s room. It’ll be my first foray into box joint joinery. Love the way they look and thinking it’ll be alot of fun with a bit less of the “ok, not gonna do THAT again…” kind of thing.
Thanks for checking it out!
