This is a basement room my brother and I finished out with a bar. The clients are very social and love entertaining, so this really is a great room to have for this purpose.

The bar was designed by some people the clients know and was constructed by their shop. We did the install as part of finishing out the room.

The clients on this project are great to work with and we have worked extensively on their house during the construction. We have continued to work for them since the construction ended.

One of the best things in life is working with my brother. We make a great team.

Just your average, run-of-the-mill basement, eh Todd?

This is really sweet!

Yeah, just an average, dark, musty, low ceiling basement. Good for nothing but storing excess crap.

Ai Caramba! One of those claustrophobic places with no light or ambiance either.

It’s a breath of fresh air when I hear of how brothers can work and enjoy what they do together.

Those white patio doors sure make the room. LOL! Great room! They did a nice job separating the bar area from activity area. Well done Todd!!!

Wow Todd, that has got to be the best entertainment room I’ve ever seen. The English pub style without the normal overdue people seen to think they need. Outstanding work, but one question….how do they get the people to leave once they get in there???? LOL

I’ve always wished I had a brother. Maybe he’d like doing the things I hate. LOL Great job on this one as well, Todd.

Todd,
Great attitude and superbly detailed craftsmanship. You’re indeed lucky to have a brother that shares your woodworking skills and interest. That’s a winning team. Sounds like you have a ready market in your area. That’s nice. The Clippinger name apparently has real brand appeal. Keep charging! I look forward to your next post. Max

Some serious drinking will be done at that bar by the look of it Todd. Beautiful work by you and your brother.

Nice work, Todd. My sister is pretty cool but, alas, she is not a woodworker. She’s an excellent mom though and my niece and nephews show it.

The floor is pretty cool too. Is it a reclaimed floor or distressed or just the way it is?

Hi Todd,

Great work. That space would make a great basement, if you got rid of all that stuff! LOL

I too wish I could work with my brother. We’ve tried a number of times, but it just didn’t work. Male ego issues!

Your quote: “One of the best things in life is working with my brother. We make a great team”, is a great tribute to you both.

I did luck out with an incredible brother-in-law though. We’ve been partners in a couple ventures, (still are) for over ten years, with two disagreements in all that time.

Very nice work!

Lee

Hi Todd

This photo really caught my eye as it is the type work I like to do. Your work shows that you are blessed in being a craftsman in the true sence of the word. You are also blessed to be with your brother. I had not seen my brother in over 20 years because of being in college or living thousand of miles apart. When I moved back to Iowa we were close enough to see each other more often. For the past 14 years now we have bow hunted together every year. We love hunting, but more importantly that we can be together!

I was really impressed with your entertainment center. Beautiful Work!

Nice bar Todd. I am self employed, and wanting my brother to work with me also, we work good together. I like your work, maybe I can learn something.

Hi Todd,

Where was I when you originally posted this one? I am glad that it came back up on my review list. This is a gorgeous job. I really love the fluted columns and the wide moldings. An area like this would be a welcome addition to any home.

Thanks for sharing this project and thanks for the story behind it as well.
