I had a very annoying, space consuming, cumbersome Delta Universal Miter Stand (model 50-155).

Using free pallets, I made the laminated top to mount the saw, and a few 2×4s to build the stand. I took the wheels, axel, and infeed/outfeed rollers from the Delta unit and attached them accordingly. Now the saw has the same functionality, looks cooler, easily rolls around without have to turn it 90 degrees on it’s side, takes up far less space and the infeed/outfeed are out of the way when not in use.

This is what the Delta version looks like so you can imagine how hard it is to move.

I’ve been using this for 6 months now, and it’s proven to be very sturdy. Big improvement.

Good job. I know all about getting fed up with the universal stands…. I am really starting to hate mine.

Great solution, looks great
