Here is my entry for Not Just Any Box contest. This is a walnut and birdseye maple box with double dovetails on outside box. A smaller inside box uses 1/4” finger/box joints. Cleaning rods for rifles and shot gun sit in grooves created by core box bits. This is my first real small box I can see why Don “just loves ‘em”. Hope to get a few more by next Christmas for all the hunters in the family.

That’s a beaut, Doc. I like the strip of wood on the front that picks up the double doves. Is it laminated or inlayed?
Glad you have acquired the box “disease”, and all your hunters will be glad too.

Super job, Doc! A beautiful gift for any hunter, but they might not want to use it ;^D

Doc! That’s a great box. The contrasting wood in the joinery, and the top is just great! Good luck in the challenge, this should get votes. It’s really a nice piece!

Great box! Love the dovetails.
I sense a gun theme taking shape in the contest. :-)

Great design. I love this box. I really need to make my buddy a gun cleaning box (he has a cardboard one). I really like this one!

Slick and functional, nice work. Not being a gun person, I never realized how much stuff there was to clean a gun. I guess you’d need a box to keep everything together. I’m learning all kinds of stuff here.
