The lumber for this computer desk came from a local sawmill. The sawyer had cut the tree for a violin maker who decided not to take it because the wood had too much figure so the sawyer sold the whole tree to me for 50 cents a board foot. The tree was 2 feet in diameter and I still have a few boards left after 8 years of creations.
The two sides are bookmatched and the borders are quartersawn white oak from the same sawmill.
