Have a similar project that was a small prototype of 2’ x 2’ piece. This large one is 4’ x 5’ with mohogany frame and tung oil finish. the piece is constructed of 1/4” hardboard that has been painted with a bright red Japan paint, followed by gold sizing to adhere 5.25” square copper sheets with small tears to allow the paint to show through, followed by spray sealer and laquer spray.

That is really unusual, and totally the focal point of the room! Very creative.
