This bowl is about 9.5” in diameter and is about 3.25” tall. It was cut on the bandsaw from a blank made up of leftovers. A number of species are included: Maple, Padauk, Monterillo, Canarywood, and Mahogony.

I intend this bowl to among the 4 I will be taking to the Jurying session of the Pennsylvania Guild.

Wish me luck, please.

Nice work. I also make these. Although I dont use a bandsaw. I use a scrollsaw. I drill a hole in the blank and slip the blade through. That way I only have rings to deal with rings and not 1/2 rings. You can check my blog if interested.
Do you have a pic of the blank before you cut it on the bandsaw?
Thanks for the post

Your bowl looks great. Leftovers never looked so good. Thanks for sharing.

Didn’t take a picture of this one before cutting the half rings. A scroll saw would probably be easier to control than the bandsaw but the scroll saw I have would not do well on more than 3/4” stock. Until I get a better scroll saw I’ll have to stay with the bandsaw.
