My wife and I really love Penzey’s Spices but we have so many we were running out of space for them in our cabinet. So, I took a little bit of red oak and made a very simple spice shelf under our cabinet. The entire thing took less than an hour to make. I sanded the sharp edges down a bit by hand, but I didn’t bother at all with any sort of finishing. The oak looks nice enough that I didn’t think it was needed (also I was impatient).

That’s one of the best ideas I’ve seen in some time. If I didn’t have lights under my cabinet I’d be copying that fantastic idea.
