This is a project I made for my daughters birthday. I had made the dresser that you can see in the picture a couple years before, but she was getting to the age were she needed a real desk and not the hand-me-down of mine when I was a kid. It’s made from maple. The top was made using maple plywood wrapped with 8/4 hardwood. The cabinet sides and shelves are maple plywood as well, fronted with a 3/4 bull nose. It was my first experience with doveltailing. I used the incra system to create the half blind dovetails. I’m a big fan of full extension draw glides, so I used those on the drawers. I drew the project in Autocad as you can see from the picture below. I can’t think of much more. My daughter really loved it. I think you can see that from the expression on her face.

She should spend a lot of quality time at that desk. Nice job.

I’m confused…....is that a floor in your kids room? I know we had a floor put in both my kids rooms when the house was built….......but it’s since been lost.
Nice looking desk….....and the recipient seems to be proud of it too.

Same thought went through my mind about the floor.
Think my kids floor has been sucked into a black hole.
Very nice desk, clean, simple, functional and beautiful.
She’ll get many years of enjoyment from it I’m sure.
