Small Walnut bowls, sold within an hour of making them at our class graduation.
A small White Ash bowl painted black.
A laminated Poplar bowl painted greenish!
I finished my Cabinet-making program today after 18 months of schooling. My final project was a “Shaker style toy chest” Hand-cut dovetails a plenty and finished with a milk paint (pictures to come) Certain disciplines were expected to be incorporated into the final project, turning being one, so i put it forward that i would turn a handfull of bowls as the “toy chest” did not need any turning. In all i finished the “toy chest” made four Walnut butcher blocks, worked three solid days on a different project and turned a grand total of seventeen bowls of various sizes from various woods. Apart from the “toy chest” everything else i made came from off-cuts and salvaged wood from the “scrap bin” It’s what i do!!
