Looks like it took quite a while to install all those slats! Good job.

John,
Great job! I love it. I can tell from the pieces you took your time selecting stock and it shows!

Super Spectactular! I KNOW how much work that was! The finish really gets the white oak rays to pop!

I also know how much work that was! The wood grain and finish is spectacular. How did you finish it? Fume, stain, dye, or natural?
I have built a queen sized from the same plan for my son and his wife. I now have to build a king for the home. My wife was just asking today when I’m going to start it. So many projects so little time, and money. ;)

I love how you picked the boards for the foot board, the fleck seems to radiate out from the center like rays from the sun. Very unique.

Dock,
That process was an entire day spent at the Frank Miller Lumber Co picking through stacks. They have a LOT of qs white oak. I like how the figure splays out like that. The ray fleck pattern on the legs are arranged in a similar way.

When friends asked me to build a “mission” style bed frame, this is the one I wanted to build. I’ll be posting what they instructed me to build in a few days.
Beautiful!
