So I bought some hanging veneer blinds for my patio door, I have uploaded a before picture and as you can see the kit came with an extra blind that you use too cover the metal railing all the other blinds attach to. This blind uses little plastic clips to clip it to the rail and two plastic corner clips and it really looks cheap and terrible, so I decided to build my own cover and this is it. I used some L shaped crown molding and some “rope”, I basically framed the extra piece of veneer blind to create a decorative cover for the metal rail. All of the corners are mitered cuts and the rope is glued on, I used two coats of minwax colonial maple for the stain, and some spray on semi-gloss poly. I was using my cabintry you can see in one of the pictures as my inspiration ie. the rope and shape. Thanks for looking.
