Curly maple box with biscuited mitered corners. Interior tray and dividers and mahogony. Inlay and red velvet is from Rockler. Finished with Tung oil. I proposed to my wife with this box and locked the ring inside.

Well, since you proposed to your wife we can deduce her answer. Very nice box.

Proposed to your wife? But you’re already married to her! (just kidding).. Nice box. I really like the curly maple. What is the inlay, wood, or shell?

Hope you gave her the key so she knew what was inside…

Now that is just beautiful. Nicely done.

Thanks Guys,

She did say yes! I am one lucky guy. I gave it to her locked and when she went to open it is when I popped the question. Inlay is a federal fan that I got from Rockler. I’ve tried making a few but I need more practice.

John, You have a whole bunch of great projects here. I just don’t have time to comment on all of them but they all seem to be as well done as this one. Keep up the good work.

Beautifully done John, both inside and out. Certainly an heirloom especially with a story like that.

Should you propose to me with such a box and the opera tickets and I’d say yes without thinking it twice John, especially if you also threw in the deal the Jeppesen updates. Too bad I’m a guy and already married. ;o)
