Cutting Board, End Grain Up

Here’s another cutting board—friends keep asking for them.

This one was inspired by LarryS’s cutting board that had a nice aged look:

I copied the pattern, but did not quite get the look due to differences in wood. Regardless, I liked the way it came out… wood always surprises me after it’s all finished.

14×11, 1.75 thick, Cherry, Maple, Padauk and Aeromatic Cedar (the cedar had a tight grain and interesting pattern so I used it despite it being a soft wood… seems hard enough).

Thanks Don, super nice board, as are all of yours! I found this CB post when looking for use of cedar in cutting boards, wondered the same as you if it would work…. Now I have my answer.

Cheers,

On that cedar, only time will tell :) Seemed ok though since I was mixing other woods adjacent.
