My daughter started cello lessons in school and wanted a music stand. She often looks at the projects with me and likes the one with more than one type of wood.We looked at several music stands that had been posted to get ideas, then came up with this design. It is padauk and maple. The finish is teak oil with paste wax on top. It has a pin to raise and lower the stand, and can adjust to angle ( thoughI wish it had more range now that it is done) The included joints are: butt, mortise and tenon, wedged mortise and tenon, dado, and lap.

Very nice Chad. Be very careful. I found that as soon as I made my son one thing for his music, he wanted more: no a bad thing but just saying. Gets to the point where my projects are put on hold. I too like the use of multiple woods. Thanks for sharing.

That looks great! I love the contrasting woods…they go together nicely.
