I have had this dynamite box for about 40 years. Moved it with me to 4 states and multiple attics. Could never come up with anything to do with it till finally the ah ha moment came for turning it into a wine box. The base and cross members are made out of salvaged wormy chestnut. It will hold 2 large bottles and 11 regular bottles of wine. Now since 13 is supposedly an unlucky number, I guess we can’t keep it full. Darn, darn, I guess we will just have to keep drinking to stay lucky!

I love it. Do you have any ideas for a wooden chicken crate? I’ve got one that’s been following me around.

Glad you finally found a use for it. Did you know there’s a wine producer in California called Dynamite Vineyards? That might be funny to keep a bottle or two of that near the top where it’d be seen.

Great use for it. The base is a nice addition, good luck keeping it unlucky.

Thanks for all the comments. @Jim…. hmmm… that will take some pondering! @Jonathan, That would be awesome, I’ll have to check our local state store (Pennsylvania has a horrible selection!)

I’m sure you weren’t the first, nor will you be the last, who has used this line of logic. ;-) Great project.
