This was my first big scale project that took me about four months to complete working on weekends and a few days taking off work. I used cherry wood and cherry plywood for the entire project. The piece is actually 6 separte pieces 3 bottom cabinets and 3 top shelve units. The middle is 6 inchs taller and 4 inches deeper then the sides. I sized the middle to fit my 52 inch tv. The fluted columns were a great learning experience. Total cost was around 1100 dollars. It wasnt cheap but it was very rewarding and gave me a lot of confindence for future projects.

Looks great. Heck my wife would be tickled with only 4 months build time. I’ve been “working” on our entertainment center for 18 months now. Too many other projects to keep me distracted.

Congratulations on a job well done. What type of finish materials/technique did you use?

Beautiful piece! I’ve done a couple similar pieces. Never ceases to amaze me how long a project actually takes.

Very nice classic look. Beautiful, functional, will last a lifetime plus, worth every penny.

-- Life is about choices. You can spend a lot of money on furniture and have really nice furniture; Or you can spend a lot on tools and have even more expensive, crappy furniture. I made my choice.

Adam,

The entertainment center looks terrific. Did you design it too? We’d love to see more photos with close-ups.

Thanks for sharing.
