They look very nice! Do you consider yourself proficient now? If so, how long did it take?

I like the houndstooth. It’s hard to not get mixed up when you’re cutting that one. Nice job. Cosman would be proud.

Handcutting dovetails is very rewarding. I recently took a class on dovetailing as I had not really done a lot of it in the past. Tight fits do take quite a bit of practice and patients. Congradulations your work looks great.

It blows me away that people have the skill and the patience for this. Those are really sweet!

Excellent! I does take practice and that’s what I’m so often unwilling to take the time for. After a year or more away from the last time, I expect to pick up the saw and chisels and be able to do it well. But, just like anything else, it doesn’t work that way. You’ve inspired me to take the time for more practice this year. I know I have plenty of scraps to practice with!

yep, tom’s right, i see another cosman convert here. jj probably has the LN saw and maybe even the perfectly balanced chisels too. i love those chisels. today i’m taking off the clamps on my first totally handcut dovetail box. nice to see you’ve put in the time and are collecting the rewards now jj. those darn things sure take a while at first. still not sure how anybody makes money cutting those by hand.

Very nice, I just don’t have what it takes to follow through with this kind of detail. I like the quick, instant gratification projects.
