This was a commercial job when I worked for AMC Industries. It was for a restaurant called ” Wings Gone Wiled ” The mast was from a real sail boat bought from a boat salvage yard. I had to cut off 5 feet to make it work. The left over wood I turned the spindles and made the hand rail. The bottom of the birds nest was made from 3/4” plywood. The bar top was made by George it is Maple and Sepele. It has 4 coats of UV conversion varnish for the finish. I used all the original pulleys and cables from the mast to finish this project

Very nice looking birds nest, as an avid reader, I know what the birds nest is, but as a landlubber the rest
of the mast is beyond me. It is very professional looking work, and I am sure that both the nest and the
bar will receive many admiring looks and comments from people who know boats and woodworking over the
years. The open air bar looks good, mainly because looking out the office window, visibility is limited to
about 4 blocks by a snowstorm. Thank you for sharing

Sweet! You do nice work. It’s nice to drop in and see things that are being done by those of you who are still doing the contracts, for we old retired guys, I mean.
In no way a critisizm, but don’t you mean crow’s nest?

Thanks for letting us see this.

Great job. It looks awesome.
