I made this mahogany endgrain cutting board for a family friend for Christmas. I decided to add something different by carving a trio of leaves in the corner (my first attempt at relief carving). Obviously, I need a lot more practice.

Nice gift and your first carving looks great.

Looks great—I like the wood choice. The carving looks good too, especially considering it’s your first try.

Nonsense Your carving looks great, if you think you need practice than I’d love see more after you have. Also the board is great, wonderful choice of wood.

Your carving is lovely, but you have made a mistake with it. Your friend will never use it as a carving board now! It is too lovely. (Of course, I kid!)
