I designed this headboard for my daughter. Mortise and Tenon joinery with over 50 joints. It is made of mahogany and stained with General Finishes Ebony.

Very nice job, that’s a lot of mortise and tenon, did you use a mortising machine or by hand, either way very nice, your daughter must love it, thanks for sharing

Hi everyone, it has been a long time. Good to be back. itsmic, I used a mortising machine, I actually borrowed one from a friend, ( I have some very nice friends, wouldn’t you say?) was so impressed with how easy it made joinery, I bought myself a Jet mortise machine. Isn’t out of the box yet, will do a review when I get it set up and another project started. My daughter is very happy with it, and I’m sure she’s thinking of another project for me!
Have your say...
