Are they stacked for display purposes, or is this how they (it) would be used?

They are spread out on purpose. They fold up into one and are attached at the end so they don’t come apart.

Yes, a book I have shows a stacked candle holder like this, only it is made from one board and not turned on a lathe. The ends are pinned with a dowel, and the candle holder can be spread out like a fan. When done, it folds back up into the single piece again.
A nice “twist” on the same idea with the turned candle holder. Good job.
You might hit a couple of the stores and see if they have a clearance sale on their holiday candles. You might find some tapered candles really cheap. Buy some, and then you know the hole size to drill.

Nice job on the candle holder that couldn’t hold candles (no holes drilled).

Thanks for the comments. I wasn’t sure when I put it on the lathe that the longer piece of the wood would make it off balanced. It worked out great, not a problem. Cajunpen, as soon as I know the hole size then I can drill those in.

Very clever, you must have the holes, & candles in it by now.
Lets see a picture.

I’m glad this came round again. I’d missed it. That’s really unusual

Dick I haven’t done that, sorry. I was busy doing other candles holders once I started! Stewart, I posted other pictures of my turned projects. Having a great time with them that’s for sure. Thanks for looking.
