My other brother (not the one that I did the outdoor project for) is actually very handy, but doesn’t have many tools. When he moved into a new house, he wanted a large entertainment center for his Man Cave. He’s a football coach (and a darn good one) and has helmets he wants to display above. Being that he’s a teacher and a coach, and that all the tax money that is intended for teachers is stolen, squandered, and wasted by school boards, bureaucrats, mob unions, and administrators, he needed this thing to be cheap.

His wife announced that she wanted to paint it, and had already chosen the paint. I suggested MDF and he agreed. She also has some design considerations.

This thing is a monster, and is assembled in 6 main pieces. Left and right upper bookshelf, left and right chest of drawers, big center unit. There are no doors. We made the thing in my garage, but only did a dry fit. He took the “flat packed” project home, glued, screwed, filled, sanded, and painted.

The drawers are all baltic birch on really heavy duty full extension slides. The shelves above the TV are adjustable, all the other shelves are fixed (his choice).

Oh poor Brittney Spears. Her story just had to ruin such a nice cabinet. Nice job here though!

Sturdy solid construction with lots of storage. “Man-cave” I love it.
