Normally I prefer metal floor vents, but the size of our bathroom floor register was non-standard. Another problem was that the bathroom would get too hot if the old vent was left open. This simple vent cover made from 3/4” quarter sawn red oak solves both problems. The eight holes in the center provide the right amount of airflow, while the smaller walnut pegs are purely decorative.

nice floor register with a built in damper, I think you should get a patent on it lol. I’m in the Hvac trade and never seen that one before.
