...and to think I have been warning my kids about obsessive/ compulsive behavior associated with “World of Warcraft”! But hey, this is different….right?
I found it kind of amusing that I spent a fair stack of cash on finishes and ended liking the clear “Pledge” floor sealer/finish about as well as anything else I have tried so far…. except perhaps the Frenc Polish I am learning . However… and there always IS a however…. I saw these hollow forms created by Dave175 in Pensacola that have a truly amazing finish thanks to “Mohawk laquer”..... guess what’s next???

Pledge?! I’m going to have to give that one a shot. What is your procedure for applying it, etc? Have you noticed if it gets dull after some handling? They look great!

Well, my thinking went kind of like this; since every polish and finish out there claims to give a superior result..the high gloss ones are the glossiest… I bought scads of different ones and they were all about the same… somewhat less than thrilling. There is this guy…. David175….his finishes make me a little green with envy..check him out, he is a “jock”...anyway….. I was put in mind of television commercials where each and every product is the best..I saw a Pledge commercial and thunk to meself…. if it is good enough to be around a couple decades..it is tough enough to walk on..good enough for hardwood floors..and I can buy a fresh bottle at “Wal-Mart” at 3am any nite… maybe I should splurge the $3.00 and give it a whirl…. it whirls just fine! I apply it with a lint free cloth on the lathe while it is spinning slowly….let it dry a sec, add some more..two or three coats at least..then buff with a similar (dry) rag. Havent seen any signs of hazing or dulling yet. The one major drawback I have noticed is that Pledge tends to dull the smell of the burled camphor….which I am sadly addicted to!
