Bandsaw Bowl: A 12" bowl from a 1"x12"x12"

Actually this is a scroll saw bowl, but with a similar technique could be made on a bandsaw. Constructed from a 1”x12”x12” piece of spalted ambrosia maple. Finished with wax only. On my next bowl like this I may use oil then wax to darken the maple a bit. Finished dimensions: 12” diameter x 4” deep

I like the bowl. I never made a bandsaw bowl only bowls on the lathe. I guess there are a lot of ways to make a bowl.

Holy smokes!! That turned out really nice. I saw the technique for band saw bowls and gave it a try to see how it works. I never finished the bowl – but perhaps I will now.
