Spalted Maple 10 inches .393 thick. I started out making a totally different design. I was indexing by eye (not smart) and realized I really did need those new bifocals!! So I sat & looked at it, and wondered , should I throw it in the woodstove or attempt a redesign??? As I looked at it, I thought it looked like mountain bike gears…so I adjusted a few things & this Turning for Gearheads was born. Hope it’s a good redesign and it appeals to gearheads everywhere

Very nice work. Don’t you love it when a mis-cut turns out as nice as this?

-- I've cut it twice, but its still to short....

Another one of your very creative designs, these must do crazy things to your eyeballs as they turn :)
Bet you were good at geometry & maths as a kid.

Very appropriately titled. I can see several sets of gears turning into each other. Intriguing design.

Fascinating design.

Visio-mechanically stimulating.

Oh and that .393” thats about 10mm then! You’re not secretly using the metric system, are you?
