I had 8 2×6s from an old Redwood picnic table. Needed a TV Table. Daughter wanted a “Mission Style” with open shelves to place baskets in. What old bolt holes I kept, I covered with Dutchman patches. Plywood shelves are actually just two pieces of plywood, notched to fit each other. A face frame covers the edges of the plywood. Face frame in the back was left a bit proud of the shelf, to keep things from sliding out the back. Edges of the top were beveled with a handplane. Mortises ( a lot of them) were chopped out by hand.
