A buddy of mine has fell in love with the cigar box instruments. He wanted to build a uke so I let him use the shop and what experience I had from building the previous 6. We worked on it about 8 evenings and got it finished today. He didn’t want the cigar box emblem on the front so we sanded it down to bare mahogany. I didn’t know how that would work but it turned out okay after a few coats of Danish oil. This one has chrome tuners with pearl buttons, maple neck with walnut fretboard and a deer antler bridge. It is a 17” scale, ‘tenor’ model uke. It has a piezo element under the bridge so it can be amplified if desired. Lots of fun building and playing. He’s ready to go for a guitar now I think.
