Although making one of these myself is not on the radar, I have to say, the level of detail and craftsmanship on this is extraordinary. This is truly impressive work. I like the ones I’ve seen that use multiple species types for the various parts as well. Such heirlooms.

That’s spectacular.
How long did it take, what model shovel is it, where is it located, etc.?
Also curious as to how/where you get the specifications/info required?

Doriel,
What type of CNC machine do you own? I assume you are cutting the pieces one, right? What type of bit gives you that fantastic detail?
These models of yours look fantastic!

Hello Doriel!
It’s really beautyful work. I’ve showed your excavator to my uncle and he was very happied that some people like build the big machines. When I looked at your nice work of a great Master I even remembered when in the childhood my uncle was able to make such tricks as close the match box or crash the boiled egg by his dragline bucket.
Fantastic.

Beautiful work! The detail is fantastic.
I’ve always been a fan of wooden models (ships, boats…etc). This is a whole new dimension.
Have you considered building a lattice boom crane? or even a hydraulic one.
At any rate wonderful work.
