Maple desk and hutch I made for my wife about 3 years ago. Top is 2 layers of plywood banded on 3 sides with solid maple. Carcasss is plywood with solid maple face frames. Solid maple drawer fronts and frame & panel doors.

Door on the left houses a file drawer; door on the right opens like a a regular door, where the computer will be stored. Putting the computer in that small space necessitated installing an automatic venting fan, which is not shown in the pictures.

Hutch is similarly constructed of plywood and solid wood face frames and moldings. Got the wavy glass from Rockler (pricey!!), but I really like the way it looks. It didn’t take long for my wife to fill the available space. Bulletin board between the desk and hutch is homasote wrapped in red fabric which friction fits between the bottom of the hutch and the top of the wall molding.

Lovely pieces.

Is the hutch where you keep your rabbets ? :-)

Great job! Love the hutch design. Agree – the wavy glass really adds charm. Thanks for sharing.

Real nice!. Did you get some plans from someplace? I think I would like to make the same.

Mancave,
No plans, just made up the dimensions to suit the space. Plywood carcasses with solid wood face frames
