I made this box for my mom for Christmas. The box is made out of five different woods. Valnut,bubinga,ebony,ziricote,1/4inch plywood (bottom),poplar devider. The Ziricote (Cordia dodecandra)
Tobacco brown to reddish brown with irregular dark brown or blackish streaks and variegations.
Small to medium sized tree may reach 100 feet at maturity.
Beautiful flecks on quarter sawn surface. Hard and heavy. Holds its place well in service. Hard, yet easy to work and takes a high polish.Source Region: Mexico, Central and South America.
The box is finished with a few coats of denish oil.

That’s a fine one! I like the wood, especially the lid. Looks like bocote.

Author, author….I love what you did with the corners. Could you (please, please, please) give just a little more information. The woods would be nice.

This is another beautiful creation.

I’ve been viewing most of the entries today.

It’s going to be tough picking a winner.

Good Luck
