This was a fairly simple fireplace surround. The design was a little tricky do to the odd dimensions of the framing. Finish is a pigmented pre-cat lacquer (ML Campbell Magna-Lac)
The client is fairly crafty and is making a smashed tile mosaic to fill in above the firebox

Very nice Gary! I’m converting my natural fireplace to natural gas in the spring! I want to build a nice wood surround like this one only wider with a natural finish! The type of wood yet to be determined. Keep-up the great work.

Your work is always so well done. From elaborate to simple, it is always fine.
Be careful,
Michael
