I needed additional lighting for some tasks I have to perform in the shop. Rather then buy lamps and spotlights I decided to have mine portable. In my shop I have cleats around on the walls so I can move cabinets and accessories around without a lot of hassle. The portable lights hang from the cleats and I can place them where ever I need them. I purchased the lights from our Habitat for Humanity ReStore shop, they were only a couple dollars a piece, now I wish I had bought the hole lot, they work so well.

Great idea, like the concept of being able to move things around easily.
I might borrow this idea.

Go for it, I like the total idea including my cabinets and accessories. I can move almost everything hanging from my shop walls. I cut the cleats at a 30 degree angle so they match up perfectly and very very strong (as long as you attach the wall cleat to the studs).
