A NOT TURNED VASE…a poor turners vase…all of my work is done on a ring master, which attaches to my shopsmith, or a lathe….I cut multiple rings at various angles to get to my final piece.. this piece has 19 rings of ambrosia maple with inlay in between each ring…each ring is approximately 1/4” and glued up with CA glue…the inlay “iIS”....solid black plexiglass!!!...sands like wood and gives a “great” contrast….a fair amount of time…but the final product is worth it…10 coats of finish and a buff and polish…the most figured piece of ambrosia yet…love it….what do you think?

Very interesting effect. I like it. The ring master is an interesting tool. You can do some pretty neat stuff with it. I’d like to see more.

That ringmaster does do some interesting work. The outcome is undeniable!
