Here is a Lazy Larry I have not posted before… it has been in a few pics in the background and part of the dress rehearsal display for next Sunday…
The outer part is New Guinea Rosewood and the circular inlay is 10 mm thick Huon Pine… I picked this up in Tasmania when I attended the wood show there last year…I used the TWC to route out the section for the inlay…
The LL is sprayed with Marine Varnish and has a cast aluminium [aluminum] bearing..these bearings are currently not available in Australia and the only retailer I can find is LeeValley in Cananda…
Due to the cost of shipping I am looking at importing these bearings direct from the Manufacturer in Taiwan…Anyone here in Australia interested in buying some… I will be placing a large order with the intention of saving everyone money…I can guarantee they will be cheaper than buying a pressed metal bearing from the large box store…
I will let you know of the availability and price.. Anyone who is interested, please let me know…

Great wood combo degoose. How big is the LL overall?

Do you have any idea on bearing prices yet? I could see myself needing 2 at best.

Good on yer, mate. Lookin’ out for the rest of the guys down under. How much cheaper do you think they’ll be than LV?

Nice looking design Larry. Some people (not me) have problems looking at highly patterned designs. This calm approach would appeal to those folks.

Larry: A great looking LL.

Good luck on finding your bearings.

I always thought you were missing a few. As Lew would say it your a few bearings short of a full race.

I have one of those bearing things from Lee Valley sitting around, awaiting a project. Thanks for this inspiration!
